Vanilla Magic Custard Cake
Ingredients:
4 eggs, separated
1 Tbsp water
1 1/2 cups (150g) powdered sugar
1 stick (125g) unsalted butter, melted
1 cup (115g) of all-purpose flour
2 cups (500ml) milk, lukewarm
1 tsp vanilla extract
Powdered sugar for dusting
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C) and lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
In a bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and set aside.
In another bowl, mix the egg yolks with 1 tablespoon of water and powdered sugar until creamy.
Add the melted butter, flour, lukewarm milk, and vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture, mixing well after each addition.
Gently fold in the egg whites with a spatula, being careful not to deflate them.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 40-60 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
Allow to cool in the pan, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
