Feeling nostalgic? Bring back your childhood memories with a batch of these delicious homemade orange Creamsicle bars. Super-simple to make, these frozen bars are a refreshing, easy dessert to enjoy on those too-hot summer days. Trust us—these creamy yogurt-based orange bars are so much better than anything you can buy at the store. You can be the judge of how much sugar you add, and there are no ingredients that you can’t pronounce. Making homemade Creamsicles might seem hard, but these are a breeze to create. It takes 10 minutes tops to get these in the freezer, and the rest of the time is waiting. Make them the day before, then get ready for a delicious warm-weather snack.
To get the best orange flavor possible, we used orange juice concentrate. You can sub in fresh orange juice, but the orange flavor won’t pack as much of a punch. To get that classic orange color, we added a few drops of orange food coloring, but feel free to omit. If you can’t find orange food coloring, you can mix red and yellow until your desired color is reached.
Want to make these dairy-free or vegan? Use coconut milk instead of heavy cream and sub in vegan yogurt. You can also use a few tablespoons of honey instead of the sugar if you’re wanting a natural sweetener.
You can store finished Creamsicles in the freezer for about 1 month; just keep in mind that they may begin to taste frostbitten after that time.
